This service is offered to any private buyers from the UK or EU. It is also for any traveling businessmen or tourists to Japan who require assistance to purchase and ship a vehicle back. UK or Foreign (Ex-pat) residents in Japan can also use this service for purchasing any new or pre-owned Japanese vehicle for local use, or for shipment later back to their country. Due to the abundant supply of inexpensive quality pre-owned cars in Japan and because of our services, we are able to offer prices that are much lower than UK & EU prices depending on the vehicle. C & I Price & Our Service Fee: We offer our "Personal Import" clients a prompt and efficient purchasing & shipping service from Japan based on your requested specifications as listed on your "Quotation Request Form". Our final quote will be listed as "C & I Price". Shipping arrangements are also made and an inexpensive shipping fee is payable collect at your port. Inclusive in the listed C & I price is the actual cost of the car, inland transport in Japan, all fees in Japan for customs and clearance, and all other documentation and our company service fee. Marine insurance for the total value of your vehicle with the shipping cost to your country is also included. (For vehicle ratings see Our Pre-Owned Car Rating List). We have found these ratings very reliable. Japanese vehicles sold at auctions are given a very thorough check and rated before being sold.
Shipping Services & Charges: We primarily ship to the UK & EU with the YUWA or HUAL Shipping Lines. Their ships are purpose built car carrier vessels operated by the HUAL Norwegian Lines, or with the Hyundai Shipping Company in association with YuwAutotrade Logistics Ltd who have a workshop for vehicle modifications work and a SVA testing facility now in Southampton. We work closely withy Yuwautotrade Logistics Ltd. Prior to ordering your vehicle if you have any questions or concerns you can contact Mr. Ian Jacobs or David Tudor at YA Logistics Ltd in Southampton at (023) 8033 9611. Buying and importing Japan vehicles into the UK from 1997 onwards now requires a model report and prices for these are quite reasonable. We suggest that you contact a Southampton company that has the largest selection available. They are ModelReports.com. We can then supply you export prices for any newer models that you may be interested in.
Main ports of call are Dublin, Liverpool, Southampton, Tilbury, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, or Gothenburg. Vessels leave about every two weeks. Shipping costs are approximately US $65 per cubic meter. A sports car or passenger car is about 8-12 cubic meters, whereas a 4WD, MPV, or larger vehicle is about 13-16 cubic meters. Along with the shipping cost, other normal fees applicable to importation will be charged in the UK or EU.

Time, Transport & Documentation:
Source time to locate your model can be
from 2-6 weeks. Shipping transport
time is generally an additional 4-5 weeks. So total delivery time from the time we receive your purchase
order will be approximately 6-10 weeks. Within
1 week of the vessel's departure, all final documents are sent
to our clients via registered Japan "Speedpost". Digital photos can
also be provided upon request.
Purchase & Payment: We generally require a Purchase Request Form for each vehicle purchased. In order to provide our services at these greatly reduced wholesale prices we require a minimum 50% payment of the C & I price at the time of order, and the balance of 50% after purchase & prior to shipment. After purchase of your vehicle, a confirmation notice listing the VIN, the vehicle identification number & other vehicle details will be sent to you. Payment must be remitted in Japanese yen to one of our company bank accounts in Japan. Our banking arrangements are presently with Chiba Bank. Account details will be provided on our invoice.
